The NFL concussion settlement has three components, an uncapped Monetary Award Fund (MAF) for retired players who submit sufficient proof of Qualifying Diagnoses, a 75 million Baseline Assessment Program (BAP) which provides to eligible Retired Players with free baseline assessment examinations of their objective neurological functioning, and an Education Fund to educate Class Members regarding NFL Parties’ existing CBA Medical and Disability Benefits Programs.
If you are interested in finding out whether you have a claim under this settlement, you have to meet certain requirements. First, you have to be a retired NFL player; you also have to be a retired NFL player who has played at least half of an Eligible Season.
If you have the above, then you should be eligible to receive a baseline assessment examination, which is provided for free by this settlement – even if you have not yet developed any adverse symptoms. If your evaluation findings show that you have incurred an injury, you should be able to file a claim.
If you think you have a claim, you should start the process immediately. A claim package must be submitted to the Claims Administrator no later than two years after the date you have obtained a qualifying diagnoses.
Please be advised the information provided here is not everything you need to know to file your claim. It is important that you consult with an attorney to assist you with your claim. Call Hysenlika Law Firm PLLC for a consultation.
